ACW Woes, options for credit card systems

Does anyone know of any other companys that make a credit card system for ACW4 besides Washgear and Etowahvalley? I want to ditch my Hamilton retrofit CC system and I thought I found my solution with Etowahvalley but after speaking with one of their sales people I am very discouraged. Dial up or high speed would be workable. Thanks for any info.

I wasn't aware that Etowah had a system for the ACW4. Why won't it work? What is the cost?

I tried to re-invent this wheel. Forgot most of it. It stopped when I never could figure out how to get a pulse to my PLC. The company clearing could put a go no go on a screen, but I couldn't capture that info. My thoughts were
Swipe
Comes back good
select light comes on
button pushed for wash 1 2 3 or 4
money amount charged
select light goes off
PLC runs selection

There is alot to understand. I could get through the PLC part but their link to the computer or phone was where the wompom was going to be expended ........ If you can get a pulse, you can scab on a PLC to make it work

I got in contact with Jim @ Etowah directly and now I am going to go that route now that I have more info. Their CC system that works in SS bays also works with changers and pay stations for retrofit CC acceptance. That little unit is very flexible. Also it's a winner for me because it does not use the data in line to the Hamilton controller the way that the Hamilton CC unit does. That's good for me because I believe that input to be bad on my controller and after paying Hamilton a few times to fix the problem it has persisted so I am done with it. This way it interfaces with the wash buttons, busy line, and token line directly which would totally solve my problem. Sweet!

What is the cost for the retrofit kit?

Roughly $1200, with all the flexibility this unit has and the high cost and unreliable nature of the Hamilton retrofit CC system IMO this was a no brainer.

I would give Jim a call if you were considering retrofitting CC acceptance into pretty much anything and see what he has to say.
