Whose Talking
Need good wall cleaner!!!
So, we have panel wall covering in our tunnel. We used to us HF and it worked like charm. But now that we are trying to do away with HF's, I can't seem to found good wall cleaner that does NOT have HF.
Does anyone know a good wall cleaner that actually works?

yes....but they all have HF. The most expensive chemical you will ever buy is one that doesnt work.
So, stick with HF?
I see all these fancy ads on how incredible their wall cleaners and without HF. I'm always tempted to buy one and try it out. But like you said, it'll be very expensive chemical if it don't work. I've made that mistake once in the past.
If it works, and your guys know how to use it, understand the dangers of it,and benifit from the reduction in hard labor. I don't see why not.
Kleen Wall (made here in Houston) advertised in the back of car wash magazines says its 100 percent HF free, from what I have been told that is not really true. It has ABF in it which yields a percentage of HF once added to a liquid. With that being said, it is the best wall cleaner I have ever seen.
Kleen wall is what we use, walls and equipment it cleans
Wow, 3 votes on Kleen Wall. It must be good. I'm gonna try it right away!
Thanks, guys!
Umm.. where can I buy this stuff?
Our chem company only carry NuWall
You can get Klean Wall from Kleen-Rite. It's not made with hydrofluoric acid, although it does contain a small amount of fluorine. It's immensely safer than NuWall and does about as good a job.
Has anyone ever tried using rain x or any other chemical on the walls to help protect and keep the walls cleaner for longer?
Thanks
Brad
So I just ordered 5 gallon of Kleen Wall. Ended up being around $100 after Haz Mat and Shipping charge.
Anways, how do you use it? Do you mix with water? Or use it straight on spray bottle?
Get a deck sprayer to apply it. You'll find them in the paint section of the hardware store - the other ones in lawn and garden don't have the viton seals needed to withstand the acid.
I use it 3:1. It depends on how bad the stains are on your walls - try it weaker first to determine how strong you need it to do the job.
Kleen Wall is HF. Tested it and it came back positive for HF. Unfortunately, HF cleans walls really good except it's HF. Not much else does the job. I won't use it.
Klean Wall is not HF. It's sulfamic acid (A mixture of sulfuric and phosphoric acid).
Cost of Klean Wall for 55gal is about $1,000. I could use 699(HF wheel cleaner) and get the same result for less than $700 for 55gal.
I was hoping that we can find cheaper solution, but I guess there really isn't one.

No doubt HF is the most efficient and least expensive (I pay $350 for a 10% solution 55gallon incl shipping). But it is very dangerous. I have had several injuries over the years using it. I have also had injuries from caustic tire soap.
If you are going to use it: limit who is using it, give them protective eye goggles, masks, gloves and boots, train them on how to avoid the vapor and mist, keep calgonate around for topical application. Calgonate is made for counter acting skin contact...it won't help you with eyes or lungs.

HF = hydrofluoric acid. It's not the same thing as sulfamic acid. Klean Wall is safer for one main reason: if you spill it on your skin, it burns and causes skin damage. Hydrofluoric acid doesn't burn - someone poorly trained in using it safely can lose fingers or even die from a spill without ever feeling it.
To Everyone: Yes Klean Wall contains a mixture of sulfuric and phosphoric acid. I have personally made it and have been selling it for AP Formulators for the past 10 years. Klean Wall was created after a customer of ours lost his toe after using a competitors product that contained HF. Klean Wall is an Acid and should be respected but in all the demo's I have performed and walls I have cleaned I have never been burned or injured from this product. If you have any questions about this product contact me.
