Well it looks like my XPT failed again. WE need to replace the touch screen + display board. We just replaced this in March. Called DRB and they said I will have to pay for the display board and touch screen ($2600) even if its under warranty WTF!!!!!!!

They said they will credit me when I send back the defective parts (minus the $400 I'm not paying) So I see were this is going

ITS ALL OUT WAR WITH DRB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Any one looking for a slightly used system? as I now see how they work.

Never again will I buy there system.

how old is your site? that seems kind of high for replacement parts, especially the touchscreen. but with all proprietary software/hardware, you're pretty much stuck with what the manufacturer tells you. we have ICS auto sentry eXP's that had a slew of problems our first 6 to 8 months, but after working out all the bugs (bill jams, not dispensing change, frozen screens, etc.), we haven't really had any problems in almost a year. Have you checked the voltage going to the screen components?

I feel your pain. I had two locations with DRB systems and hated dealing with those people. Pathetic.

Check with AutoPilot Controls, their system is usually compatible with other systems... Ask for Jennifer

DRB's stuff is pretty good when it all works properly. Our most recent issues with their components has been failing relay cards. Those things are NOT cheap to replace!

Every machine is going to fail. The more complicated and sophisticated a machine is...the more likely it is going to cost you major money to repair.
And with car wash volume like it is today...repairs and damages just kill your profit. The problem with most of these systems is they are like your "mother in law"...you are stuck with'em. You can't keep part of the system and just replace components and it's too expensive to replace the whole system. (although I did that two years ago...equipment controller, office pc, and 2 cashiers $95k).

They are all great when they are working...when they fail...they are all bad.
I wish I could paint a different picture.

The really sad thing is that you would think these auto cashiers would prevent all employee abuse and theft. But it's far from the truth. You've got to have backup systems for rewashes, employee washes, certain fleet and discount programs. You have to have back up procedures for when the machines go down. I have fired more people for stealing from me since I been express than I ever did as a full serve. Part of that reason is using one attendant. But you would think this, older and smaller group of employees I have now, would be better.

The problem that I had with DRB was that my machine was under warranty. They have since stepped up to the plate and covered the bad part. I am no longer under any warranty so I'm on my own. lets hope nothing expensive breaks!!!!!
