Hurricane Plan

I read an article earlier in the week projecting Hurricane Season to be worse than normal and I became curious if anyone in a coastal area had a Hurricane Plan or any advice on how to ready an express wash.

Thanks.

We are planning on leaving all of our roll up doors open for the next hurricane. I'm not sure if it will help but for the last hurricane we lost 27 doors. I also think that when the doors cave in and slash around in the wind they cause a lot more damage

Living on the coast in Florida, I would not consider your location coastal.

When I operated washes in Georgia, I was more worried about damage from tornadoes caused by frequent thunderstorms rather than infrequent hurricane related weather. In most cases, by the time a hurricane moves through Atlanta, the eye is long gone and it has become tropical storm strength.

If you have a reputable insurance agent, follow their recommendations and get coverage for damage, loss of income, etc. Look to your equipment distributor to help you plan for starting the business back up.

I have lived in a hurricane alley for nearly 25 years. The meteorologists here do a very good job of forecasting short-term weather. However, the guys forecasting hurricanes have been off more than on-target over the last several years.

Praying is also a good strategy.

Insurance is always a must. Make sure if you do leave the area, you take your policy with you. This will help expedite the claim if there is one.
