Tom,

Your best bet is to learn how to fix them yourself, they are pretty simple machines and depending on what manufacturer and models they are, you should be able to get parts. In some cases, especially with orbitals depending on whats wrong with it, it may make sense to just replace it, parts alone sometimes can cost as much as a new orbital. Get somebody else to repair it, and your gonna pay labor and parts and then it definitely will not be worth it. What kind of orbitals and extractors do you have?

I see.

We buy from Sonny's. US Products Cobra is our extractor. Most problem is product not spraying correctly.

I' don't know the brand of our orbital. It's 18lbs with black casing bought from Sonny's for $210. I have 3 of them. One of them I think is just worn out. It's few years old. It was here when I bought the was year ago. I bought 2 sometime early this year. They should last more than a year, right? I don't know the problem, but I think it may have to do with the cord. It keeps shorting out when we put it in the power outlet. So, we ordered the cord and trying to replace to see if that will fix.

We do use them a lot so I guess it's the price of operating. But, I thought it should last a bit longer. Maybe my detail guys are just throwing them around.

Thanks for your advice. I'll stop looking for 3rd party help and try to do ourselves as much as we can.

Merry Christmas!!!!!!!!

The orbitals are made by GEM in Sunrise, FL: 800-447-4GEM
They have parts and offer repair advice.

If you need parts and repair advice for the extractors, contact Diamond-Lustre in Lancaster, PA: 800-899-2833

Sonnys has all the parts for the Cobra. If it's not spraying correctly take the tip off the end of the wand and clean it out. If that doesn't do it then make sure the pump is pumping. To be sure it's not the pump, just take the hose and disconnect it where it hooks in the front and push in on the stub sticking out. If the pump is good it will spray everywhere from out of there. Also, it may be in the trigger. Sonny's also has the rebuild kit for them.

The tool, as mentioned is from GEM in Florida and they can assist you with that tool. However, you might consider scraping it and going with a pneumatic Mini Orbital Waxer (2 lbs) and allows one person to wax an entire car in 5 minutes, maximum.

Diamond Lustre, as reported, NO LONGER represents US Products. You can contact them directly, they are located in Idaho.

Does your extractor have a tank heater or an inline heater? If you have an inline heater and you do not run vinegar water thru the tank heater as part of your regular maintenance the solution channels can plug up with minerals in the water, especially if you have hard water in your area.

Just some well intentioned thoughts and suggestions.
