Stacking presoak
When using a low ph then high ph soap, Does it do better to rinse before each application, or stack the high ph soap on top of the low ph soap?

You get better cleaning if you rinse before each application. Just uses more water and time plus wear on machine.
I think any rinse prior to presoaking dilutes the product you are applying. You're best attempt at cleaning touchless is on a dry vehicle, unless you have to remove ice or mud to get to the finish. I set up all my tunnels to presoak the wheels and tires at the beginning of the process so I get maximum performance for the $ on that difficult part of the wash. Most IBA's blast the wheels and rockers with water to remove mud (which is good) but that makes it more difficult to clean the tires and wheels later. Hot & dry wheels/tires are much easier to clean than cold & wet.
Putting wheel cleaner on Hot/Dry wheels is not recommended.
Yes, if water is on the car it will dilute the presoak when it hits the car, but can be overcome if you make compensations for that at the metering device.
The alkaline presoak is negative and the Lo is positive. When you mix the two they neutralize. If water gets on the surface, the soap has to fight through the water to get to the dirt. The use of a acid presoak in a cost / performance test makes it.......lets just say it doesn't work. Get your alkaline detergent above a 20 drop titration. If your set on acid, use it last as make the wax set up. safeside@aircanopy.net
I agree, thats how we do it in Texas. It seems like everywhere else they put the low pH on first. It's all about cleaning conditions and what it takes to get the job done.
