Jim Coleman Water Wizard 2.0

We have two Water Wizard 2.0 Touchless Automatics.

We attended Jim Coleman's Car Wash College last year.

I have a few things I need help with a.s.a.p. and can't get Al at Jim Coleman to return my calls today.
1.How many ounces of oil does the big Cat pump on the Water Wizard take? I changed the oil today & can't find anywhere in the books how much it uses. 2.The tricolor foam on one of the Water Wizards is not working...it won't foam. Do I need to replace the solenoid?
3.The Winter Wizard is supposed to shut off when it reaches 120, but is continuing to run constrantly. What do I need to replace to fix that?

The washes are great, but very high maintenance. One is less than a year old and one is two years old.

Anne,
Did'nt the car wash college get into handling things of this nature ?
The CAT pump should have a window to see the oil level. The oil level should be mid piont on the window. If you drained it into a container then put the same amount back in ! The CAT pump is not a pressure cavity. Putting slightly more in won't hurt anything. If you have no foam then perhaps your compressor is not on. Check that you have pressure first. Go to the solenoid next. I am not familiar with the winter wizard, but it sounds like a pressure switch needs adjusted or replaced or you could have a leak somewhere in the system.

Go and get your money back for this course.

The CAT pump should be a 3535 which holds 4.2 qts. The tri color foam not working could be a few problems. There are three seperate solenoids controlling three colors feeding into one pump, so if you are getting liquid then the solenoids should be fine, but check the pump pressure and also the suction screens in the dilution tanks (sometimes if the screens get clogged the pump will not get enough volume). There is also a seperate solenoid on the gantry that turns the air on and off. This air supply also has a pressure regulator that may need to be adjusted. But 9 times out of ten the foam generators need to be cleaned or replaced. I would make sure the thermostat is set correctly on the winter wizard. I agree that the units are great washes, but the maintenance can be overwelming.

As far as the tricolor not foaming-please be more specific. Is solution spitting and sputtering out? It's most likely a chemical strength problem or excessive air pressure set at the regulator on the gantry.

OK, the 3 phase cartridge heater cuts off at 140, but the winter wizard pump will continue to pump solution as long as the thermostat tells it is cold outside. The three phase heater does not have an adjustable thermostat on it. Set the wall mount thermostat to ~30ish, keep the solution high enough in the tank, and the winter wizard should take care of the rest.

If you don't like the three phase heater set at 140 you can adjust the thermostat by removing the cover(the adjustable thermostat is located behind the cover)
