adding service features to touchless automatic

Hi Gang,

I am thinking of adding some full service features to my touchless automatic and am looking for some feedback.

I have a AOK Touchless automatic along with 5 self serve bays and a detail department. I am looking to enhance the automatic business and am seriously considering giving some optional full service features.
I am considering this because:

a) Activation of dynowash can be tricky for some users and I would like to have an attendant on duty more often thus why not offer features to make use of attendant.
b) Why not try and squeeze every ounce of income out of wash as possible.
c) On particulary dirty vehicles the touchless loosens some of the dirt but has trouble rinsing off all of it and offering towell drying would give the impression that the auto is more effective.
d) i think over time I would gain alot of customers that are intimidated by using the auto on there own.
services that I am considering are these

wheel/rim prepping or cleaning
bug removal
towell drying
tire dressing
vacuuming
rain x

my current wash prices are $5 for a basic wash up to $10 for ultimate wash

Does anyone have any feedback or ideas for me? Opinions on optional features or pricing ideas.

Has anyone tried this before?

I like everything except towell drying and vacuuming. The other stuff can be done through one employee that can work mostly off of tips. If you feel you have the customer base and demand for full service detail then I would go all the way with at least 2 people, and offer hand wax, carpet cleaning the whole 9. I have not really seen that work long term very often in a IBA or SS set up though. I would suggest to try a few different things and see what works best.

I'd offer a free towel dry station and leave the drying to the customers. Reason being some prefer the touch free concept and towelling cars is opposite of this; I speak from experience. Many of my touchfree customers didn't want a guy towelling their car!

Focus, instead, on an express detail program that can be accomplished after the wash to make extra $$.

Express detail service is the way to go for extra $$. Also you may want to look into aquapel. You can get a 4 pack at costco, and sell them for 15-20 bucks applied. Remember, once you start prepping or drying, you never can stop. I would stay away from prepping or drying like the plague! I posted looking for 2 used blue coral express service carts last month, and WHAMMO! I had 2 delivered here for under 2k all the way from Florida (to seattle). The retail on them is 4-5k a piece! Just make sure that you get ones that have been refurbished, or you will have nothing but problem-o's
