Problem finally solved...

This last weekend my IBA was giving me a major headache. It would stop in the middle of any given wash, wax, or rinse cycle, at any given time. I would reset it, run 5-6 cars through and not be able to repeat the problem, but sure enough as soon as I left, it would happen again.

I finally caught two proximity sensor LEDS on the PLC flickering momentarily throughout the wash. Then all of sudden it would stop in the middle of a cycle. I went out to where the prox sensors were located and found that when I moved the electrical wire I could get the led's on the prox sensors to go off. I replaced the wire, and presto, no more problems.

Hope this helps somebody in the future who comes across a similar problem.

What brand of wash do you have?

Magic Wand.

I asked because most machines are so differant that what works to fix one does not work on another brand. A flickering input can effect almost any wash that uses a PLC, keep in mind the LED on the PLC is not always the best referance when diagnoising input problems. Some PLC's reqiure the hand held programer to see a very fast momentary loss of signal.
