I am a lifetime car wash operator but I have never operated a quick Lube. I just opened a new location on a large peice of property with a very high traffic count. I would like to build a quick lube on this site. Who would I contact to get some information on the possibilities of getting this process begun. Do I go directly to the oil companies or is there some type of middleman?
I am located in New York.
Thanks,
Paul Vallario

I cannot find the name online if I get a chance at work I will check my file.
Depending on what you expect to do #'s wise. easy and fast Quickway i think there called is a prefab 1 or 2 bay center with full pits. Now it will not be a 100 car per day Lube but the building come in sections, they send you specs for hole bring utilities to the proposed building. has federal DEP stamp so only inspections from city is for ground prep, connections, and final inspections. I am told once delivered 7 working days to complete cost around $150,000 for 2 bay with bathroom.
Now that's a quick lube!

I would love to get some info too. I'm looking for a 16 foot wide building tandem style with glass down both sides. Should we build a pit or go with a zip pit?

We did a prefab (citgo) oil lube building adding it to our full service wash 12 years ago. It bombed...We didn't realize the marketing and the competition was completely different. We thought how easy it would have been because we had our very busy wash to pull customers from. Not that it wouldn't work or anything ...just make sure you really think it through. There is alot more to it then you might think. We lost BIG time.

Someone called me yesterday to tell me there is a pretty decent article on the subject in the recent edition of Auto Laundry News magazine.
