Look ahead distance for blowers!

So my proto-vest blowers are now set where if there is a car going through them and a car has entered the enter switch they remain on... should it be set like this for energy consumption? My electrician said it was better on energy usage, but last month is when I started it and my pge bill was higher then it has ever been... just wanted to see what others are doing... or how far your look ahead is set for.

Thanks

Same look ahead at all my sites...all the way back to the gate eyes.

Do you have air gates or vfd's? We close the air gates at the end of each vehicle.

We have proto-vest dryers as well. We extended our look ahead all the way back and did not see a decrease in our power bill or units per car. In fact, we just changed our look ahead back to where it was initially because we felt it could help with the longevity of the dryer.
