High Pressure Rinse Arch Recommendation

I've been using 3 gravity arches and a mirror rinse for all my rinsing at a high volume EE, but I can't get all the soaps and Rain-X from the seams, mirrors, and window drip guards. I'm looking for suggestions on a hp application and if it should be on the fresh water or the RO.

I saw a really cool set-up at Goo Goo's in B-ham during the SECWA road show. It looked great and i couldn't imagine leaving any soaps behind with a set-up like that. Was it custom or commercial? Anyone know?

Thanks for your suggestions.

Check out the Sonny's catalog. I think it is called a Berkley pump. We use one on our rinse arch at 125 psi, and find it gets all the soap/polish foam off the cars. You can also buy a similar pump through Kleen-rite.

First of all, you do not want high pressure in your rinse area. We also have 3 rain arches. However, on the first one we kept our fan spray nozzles on the side of the arch and have no problem rinsing - and we have rain-x too.

As for the mirrors, there simply is no way of adequately rinsing the inside of the mirror housing. Heck when we were full service we used to try using air guns to blow out the mirror - to little avail.

We have even more of a problem in the winter with road salt as no matter what we do, the salt in the doors and moldings gets wet when it goes through and streaks. We've gone as far as increasing our nozzle size in the winter espcially because of the fater line speed we run in the winter but it makes no difference. You can only get off what you can see on the car you can't get out what gets in the car.

As for R/O, just don't call it "Spot Free" rinse. Your customers will hold your feet to the fire.

I would also try other choices before going with an HP Rinse. (I do have HP drying agent at my shortest highest volume location uses a bsic Cat pumping staion with top and side jets. A single 110 08 on each side. ) Things I have done include Using V Jets on the side because the "Rain Arch" Just did not seem to get it done. Tie a seperate rinse with low drying agent concentrate to kill the foam into the function that triggers the rain X, to immediately follow the rain X if this is what causes the problem. Add as second nozzle to the center of the Setting and / or drying agent arch about 4 inches ahead of where the arch is. Don't know why it seemed to work so well but it did. Make sure there is a fresh water rinse at least 6 inches before the drying agent. Using V jets on the side of each. Check concentrations on all product to provide no more than minimum neccessary for the show factor and effectivenss factor.
