I believe Lustra makes good products, flex system appears to be gaining popularity and the company has distributors throughout the country.

However, is your decision to use a carwash industry brand like Lustra, Blendco, Stinger, etc. based on performance or cost per car or both?

I ask because I am doing some research on brand awareness.

For instance, when you go shopping, the car washing products that line the shelves in auto parts, discount stores, etc. are predominately national retail brands like Simoniz, Blue Coral, Armor All, Turtle Wax, etc.

Are you of the opinion that these nationally recognizable brands have no bearing on the customer loyalty or attraction rate of a professional carwash?

I have had it installed in my tunnel for over a year. I love the system it is very easy to use and cost per car is down about 20%. I was one of the first tunnels too install the system. The down side was the wheel cleaner. We started off at (101+031) it was bad. Then thru feed back to CSI+ACES we moved too (102) beter then (103) good then (104+031) awesome. We also tested 505 and have now switched too (505) we will see as its only been one week. I Also now inject air into my drying agent (400) wow is all I can say!!!! If your in the area drop by.

Shawn- I also have the ultra flex system installed at my wash (for about 18 months). I had the same experience as you with the tire and wheel...went through many before finding the right one in 505+base. I run everything with lustra (bug goo, presoak, wheel, low ph, triple foam, drying agent, sealant and lustrashield with bdr). I was using boost 106+base for the presoak, but I am now trying out their Pine specialty cleaner. I am curious about your comment with injecting air into the drying agent (400)...do you use a foam generator? Where do you inject the air at? And does this really help the water break much more? What are your ml's per car? I too love the lustra products...but I am also looking for new ways to improve anything I can. Thanks!

I am not looking into it for the brand name but for cost per car and a consistant product. I have never been one for brand name for our tunnel products, I believe the brand we make for ourselves out weighs the brand recognition that someone would get by using blue corral, or simonize.. I feel that might be more for detailing possibly. I do like the polishes however am still weighing it out.. I notice a lot more foam residule in the door jambs and beds of trucks, as well as the tunnel floor. I was previously using Floro Foam by Quest Wash Products that has a rainx type rinse and beading effect to it. Going to be trying out the rest of the ultra flex line soon.
