Who has tried Sonny's new laminated material?

Sonny has a new material called "DuraSoft" made in Europe. It's like cloth material laminated on the ends of a rubber material, made just for wraps. I've talked to two operators who love it. The fingers are smaller than neoglide so it cleans better for two reasons, plus it's quieter.

Anyone else got an opinion?

I remember when Sonny's first introduced it to america Durasoft. It's actually Granwasher made my Favagrosa. http://www.favagrossa.com/en/the-range/granwashera.html I've never seen in in action but looks like a good material. Those Europeans do make good stuff.

Say it is just for wraps or does it come in sections for rockers and other shorter sides? I suppose if you have a high side like Sonny's 63" sides you can outfit it with DuraSoft. Probably works well on top brushes too.

Right now its only available for Sonny's IBA friction machine.

I'm confused JonS. I have two friends that have it their tunnels and I saw it being installed in a Mr Car Wash in Houston last week. Maybe we are talking about two different things.

I heard there was some initial problems in one tunnel and wanted to see if that was fixed or isolated. I hope so, it sure looks like it could be a great product if it was durable and safe.

You're right Jim. I should have said its only available for Sonnys wraps right now. I called to see if it would work with my Peco wraps, but because of the design of the core, its a no-go.

Got word from one buddy that has 200k on a couple sets of wraps with no issues, except accelerated wear from trailer hitches. Maybe he is using more lubrication and that's the difference. It may be that this material requires even more lubricity than neoglide.

we have both neoglide and durasoft in our tunnel, it cleans well.
