Whose Talking
Side washers; Top VS bottom drive?
This seems to be a big debait around my area of which motor/side arm configuration is best. I've heard some people say, "top drive" because easier maintenence. And if the hydraulic leaks you'll see it.
But others (me included) are partial to bottom drive. Can be mounted under other equipment like mitters and top brushes. More visually appeasing. And seem to have better ballance.
When shocks are worn, they tend to bounce on top driven versions. The motor casing has actually scratched mirrors at a few locations. Never been an issue with bottom drive.
Just need some opinions.

Have both. Like the bottom drive for under mitter configurations. Motor scratching has never been an issue. Seems like something else is a problem if things get that worn. Using died Hydraulic fluid or water based substitute makes leaks apparent.
Thanx. the reason for me posting this poll, I'm trying to convince Belanger to make a line of bottom driven side washers. They along with Ryko are the only companies who don't do bottom driven.
They seem to be bi-polar on the idea. Yhe first year I went to the SCWA (Southwest Car Wash Association) tradeshow I brought up the itea to them and they seemed to like it. But last year they didn't seem as enthused when I reminded them.
I'm shure I talked to the same guys but I might not have. Jim Belanger of Belanger INC is related to Lee Belanger President of Motor City Wash Works. And they do both top and bottom driven, and Lee had told me the bottom driven were far more popular.
See if family can convince Jim Belanger to make the switcherue? LOL Belanger doesn't seem to give their customers much options.
Probably not finantially doable but I'm trying to get together enought opinions to finally push Jim over.
