It's that time of the year again when the bugs start coming out and become a problem for car wash owners. We are looking for any tips such as applicators or chemicals to help us with the problem of getting the bugs off the front of the vehicles. Please feel free to chime in on this discussion. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Do you currently prep?

What is your wash format? Full serve, flex, express exterior?

Format would help answer question....
but from my experience with love bugs...heated water in pressure gun after at least 5 minutes of presoaking...then scrub.

Too much heat...damage. Too much pressure...damage. Too much alkali...damage.

As Confucius would say: "Be patient my wierysome son!"

My experience has been a alkaline chemical prep or alkaline in your wash process. It may not be the best cleaning agent - but it is supposed to work well with bugs.

We charge $10 to remove bugs after the wash. Bug & tar remover and a bounce sheet work great!!!
