What should I call them?
Tire brush with bristle to reach into the wheels...
Not too many people on here done this I guess?
Did you buy the conversion kit from Sonny's? Part # is HPBCONVK
POODLE BRUSH, CONVERSION KIT HANNA $1,999.00
Neither.... contacted a Hanna distributor and cost went up to $4300 or so... and the Sonny's retro fit kit is for the Sonny's Tire Brush... most parts won't work on our Hanna Tire Brush. Sonny's doesn't make a Hanna conversion kit. Talked with them numerous times about this.
So I talked to a local machine shop and they are going to help machine the parts necessary to move brush out and up. Just purchased 2 "poodle brushes" (sorry still don't know what else to call them) from Erie Brush.
Just looking for some mistakes that any other operators might have had doing this.
By the way, what life span have anyone been seeing on the poodle brush?
I've been using the poodle brush for about 3 years now. I haven't had one problem with it so far. It's getting time to change the brush and I think i'm going to try the bison brush. I like being able to change the brush in pieces like when the entrance side gets the cone shape. But to answer your question I would recommend the poodle brush.
I don't know what to call them other than that either. I have just been in a situation where I was talking to a wash operator and said poodle brush, and there were like "man, don't call it that" Only happend twice, but I thought it was funny.
Ummm... Chris, who did you speak to at Sonny's that there was no conversion? Perhaps there wasn't one at the time, but there is now. The kit includes the 2 Poodle Brushes and necessary hardware for $1,999.00. I hate to sound like a know it all, but it's an unfortunate side effect when you know everything ;) kidding...
We have had a Sonny's Poodle brush for about two years. No major problems. Put in a Bison brush at another location around a month or so ago. The Bison brush cleans the rims much better than the Poodle. We will be converting our poodle brush over to the Bison.
I saw the Bison Brush at the ICA show it looked like it would be very hard on the wheels. The brush hurt my hand when I touched it.
I thought the same thing. But we have not had any problems with it. We had an employee forget to hit the retract on a corvette. The corvette had no damage whatsoever on the side of the vehicle where the brush contacted the car.
