New Trend in handling wheels & tires?

I've seen some innovative development in applying tire dressing that doesn't require a space-hungry 8'tire pad applicator. Instead, simply a few floor-mounted applicators & arches. This seems to be a growing trend in the initiative to develop shorter tunnels that require less drip-space.

Some have even developed tire & wheel cleaners that don't use the long tire & wheel brushes, again spirited by the trend for compressing the process.

Have we entered a new phase of development in handling wheels & tires?

If so, will this also be the start of a whole new generation of equipment configuration?

These units are going to have to use a great deal more product, not to mention the overspray and erratic distribution due to turbulence caused by air dryers too close to applicators. We use 12 cents of product per car through my six (6) year old tire shiner. Of course I am blessed with plenty of space for it. So as long as you enter the proposition of putting these new units into shorter tunnel, just be aware of the pitfalls and make sure you get paid a good buck for it.
