Hello this is my frist time posting. I am looking to build a express tunnel wash with a 100 foot building. I all ready have a quote on a modular building and was wondering what the cost would be to build a cbs block structure. Somthing like the pic inclosed but with glass down the tunnel side.

Based on my experience conventional construction is about 25% more +/- for something this size. There are a lot of variables that will affect the overall cost.

It really depends on the area - cost of labor is the biggest differential I have found in like/kind construction. Your picture looks like to me it has EIFS (similar to Stucco). And that is going to add quite a bit to the cost. It lowers the cost of the CMU’s themselves but not enough to compensate for another subcontractor coming in to EIFS the whole thing. If you have a set of plans go see a couple of masonry contractors and EIFS contractors. If you don’t have a set of plans talk to them anyway. They might give you a ballpark on a per block cost for budgeting purposes. EIFS contractor might give you a price / square foot for budget. My general experience with modular buildings has not been good but there are exceptions to every rule. My best advice is to get an experienced professional car wash builder to do your project. In the end it will save you money. It may not look like it up front, but at the end of the project you will have less gray hair and more money in your pocket.
