it would have been better to have the blue tint on the roof and clear on the sides to block some of the uv and heat

Box 6, must be outside U.S.?

I like it but I'm biased, blue is my favorite color.

One problem in placing a section of architectural panel or tinted glazing in roof of a see-through building is it mutes light requiring more interior lighting.

Great concept for SS; simple, contemporary design, economical

Would have liked more photos to see how / where they run the lines and secure the vaults and meter boxes.

Earl it looks like all that stuff is in a stainless column at the opposite end of the bay.

Using stainless columns or closing in frame members is a good approach.

One of my clients has a wash with a glass wall (non-load bearing) separating the wash bay from the mechanical room.

He uses trays for pathways. Support equipment is on opposite side of glass mounted to a steel panel.

Notice what a roof panel designed to reduce summer heat does to day lighting with a glass building.

Yup --- that is a European wash. The Euros (especially Germans) have been building these clear, plastic "green house" SS washes since the '80's. And, yup, there is a "green house effect" when the sun shines. Which might be alright in the winter ... not so much in the summer.

Also noteworthy is how darn short the bays are "over there" --- 18' to 20'. And that often puts the bay and vehicle (tiny tho' they tend to be there) in direct sunlight before and after high noon. As we all know, when you wash a car you keep it WET until you intend to dry it. Keeping it outta hot, direct sun light is almost mandatory --- especially on a dark car that's gotten PreSoaked.

And, yup again, they do look cool. But keeping the walls in those tight bays looking that way in spite of overspray has gotta be a real maintenance challenge.

BTW, I believe there was such a Euro-centric wash built last year here in the states ... in Virginia, or somewhere in the mid-Atlantic region.
