Triple Foam in the Foamy Brush
I am recently new to the car wash industry and in the last six months I have installed a used IBA in a old wash that needs a lot more work. I am getting newer self-serve equipment in my three remaining bays, and I have seen some stuff about Triple Foam for the foamy brush. I dont really want to get the triple foam gun because I have used that at other washes and it really doesn't do much, so I dont see buying all that equipment. I have seen Blendco.com where they say they can converte your one tank into one that makes it triple foam. Does anyone have anything like this? or does anyone have any experience with trying this in the past? I would like to try to make my own. But my main concern is that the colors will blend together and make like a poopy brown color if I mix it all in one tank. Any help or advice would be great.

Customers will likely use the foam brush regardless of whether it is one color or three. A small percentage of customers-5% of them or so, will also use foaming conditioner guns. They will also have to rinse the product off, so it could be argued that foaming conditioners will increase gross revenue by 8-10% or so. Having said that, triple color foaming brush is pretty cool, it's just a guessing game of whether it would make customers use more than they normally do. But if on a budget and triple foaming brush is cheap, I say go for it.
I agree, most customers who are going to use the foam brush don't care if it comes out one color or three, or none, as long as it works. Triple foam conditioner, on the other hand, has to be sold. Customers walking by a bay and seeing it applied will think it's cool and try it themselves. There are chemicals that you can use that do something, some that make a noticeable difference in shine and beading, others that provide UV protection. I use the latter, and about on in five customers will use it on their vehicle. If you want to increase your income, add something extra for them to spend money on rather than try to improve something they're already using.
Yes, if you mix the three colors you'll get a very ugly brownish-gray foam. In order to have different colors at the bay you either need a controller to switch between the colors or a way to keep them separated until they reach the brush head. I've seen an ad for a system that gives a rainbow of color foam at the head, but it just mixes up on the car into a gray mess.
I designed the triple foam conditioner system at our wash and set it up where the colors overlap, so instead of red, yellow and blue I get red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, and back to red. The first year or so it was fun to hear customers say "Wow, now it's turning green! Cool, now it's going back to blue again!" I think they try to figure out the pattern. At Christmas I change the program so it's just red and green.
Blend Co's ss and iba chemicals are great. Even their new Tunnel Vision which is a product line, as you can tell, made for just the Tunnel washes. Awesome awesome. Their triple foam brush offers great visuals, great fragrance and a cleaning that a customer will notice a difference in (most likely, ha) and all at a cost per car. Hope it helps.
