How is the high pressure coming after the cloth going to help you in the winter with heavy mud, bugs, bird droppings or snow and ice removal?

Is this the site next to Flowerland on Alpine? I just noticed the line of vacs when I was diving home from work Friday afternoon.

Is that the new Hanna Tire Gloss machine? Any reports on how well it works?

Ryko Pro,

The site is the one you drove by on Alpine next to Flower Land. You sound like you are familiar with it. The amazing thing about this wash is the fact the modifications, I mean everything, Wash Equipment, Free Vac Units, RFDI Automated Tellers, and Water Recovery unit were installed in a period of Two Weeks. The site was closed on Labor Day and was Washing Cars 2 weeks later.

If you go down 28th Street, check out the old Leonard Hill wash. It should be running in 2 weeks. It's the newest in the Southland Chain and will have even more technology in it.

Axxlrod,

I'll ask Mark Ellis to chime in on this thread, so he can answer more specific questions.

I do know this is not the new Hanna Tire Gloss equipment. It is one that had already been in place in the Tunnel.

When the rehab was done. A new conveyor was installed along with the 4 Corner High Pressure unit for online de-icing. The conveyor is on the heavy duty side and is construct with 1/2 angle. The blank spot between the twin top brushes and HP de-icing unit is just waiting for a Grill Brush that is being constructed. Their is a lot of new equipment in the tunnel but some older components were used. I do know a lot of the new equipment was made by Bob Hodge.

Bob,
Did you help with the rehab? It is amazing how fast an install can go with a good electrician and plumber. If the subs can keep up, we can get them up and running FAST. I will have to stop by there and try the wash. We rarely get the over 100' tunnels but that is starting to change.
Where is the Leonard hill site on 28th St? Is that the site that had the gas explosion last year? I will have to stop by and check out the competitions installation.

I'm just helping Mark with the water management portion of the Alpine Wash and the new one on 28th St. I think the Southland guys are really experienced and had a plan together to cooridinate all the subs involved. I can only say Mark Ellis is a very experienced operator. I think all of the Southland locations are 180+ for their conveyors.

The Leonard Hill site is the one that exploded last year. Mark bought what was left. (A foundation and an old 8,000 gallon reclaim tank, but a permitted Wash). It will be the #4 Southland location. I think it will be open in 2 weeks. Let me know what you see, I actually live in Florida.

wow great job- question is this McNeil and if so are you really happy with the equipment? We are looking at them for our tunnel and would love to hear your opinion if you have time.
Best Regards,
Mark
