This site has tons of info buried in it. You just have to take time to dig.

Your post points out an important area we need to improve.

Communication of ICA resources is lacking.

When I click on the above links here are my results:
1st link = ERROR - PagePruuid not passed to pgRenderPage.asp - unable to continue
2nd link = Error : Invalid Image Specification
3rd link = ERROR - PagePruuid not passed to pgRenderPage.asp - unable to continue
4th link = ERROR - PagePruuid not passed to pgRenderPage.asp - unable to continue
5th link = ERROR - PagePruuid not passed to pgRenderPage.asp - unable to continue
6th link = ERROR - PagePruuid not passed to pgRenderPage.asp - unable to continue

My response was “No problem I am interested in these articles so I will just dig and find them on the ICA web site”, but after searching I found only two of three of the items your post suggested.

So my point is digging is not as easy as it should be!
You should be able to copy and paste a link to help a fellow Ica member as you tried to do.
You should not have to a past president to find info on the ICA web site.

And last I want to see that video of the 50th anniversary – The highlight of my recent trip to Florida was walking through the lobby of the Speedy Car Wash on 6th Street – WOW – that is real car wash history – I think that place should be the “Cooperstown” or “Canton” of car washing. It was fun!

Anyway...thanks Ron. That is a "classic" video. Had PettyH here today and he said y'all had a good visit the other day at your place. Got my reclaim tanks dumping automatically now. I had to switch to a "Valtera" air actuated valves and sewer pvc lines. Valtera makes a similar valve for all RV's (full port, knife valve). Now I'm dumping each tank individually, differents lengths of time, every night. So I think(?), I've got self cleaning reclaim tanks now.

I think you may be have had more rain than us this summer. Hope to see ya at Ben's in Aug.

I like the valve, it looks like it will work well.

To get back on topic how can we help the ICA make the wealth of data more accessable?

The history links are just one many resource the ICA has in its files.

Maybe they just need a tutorial on how to use the site effectively, so guys like me could learn the site?

What are your thoughts?

Part of the problem Ron is the amount of content they have...tons. It's almost like trying to organize a library. I was told they have several thousand pages of info available (just look at the history on the damage control section). So, it's difficult to make it all equally accessable. But the ICA is in the midst of getting bids for an all new website.
As a former board member, I was involved in the initial development of their first website and its remodeling to carcarecentral. From what I've seen and heard they will very shortly have something very interesting and useful for our industry. The core of their new look will be a customizable homepage that each user could setup their own "rss" feeds from the web, ie; weather info, stock info, business news, sports, movies, blogs, forums, etc etc. It would be your personal homepage sponsored by the ICA with better access to carcarecentral's resources, such as the damage control center, education, Insights, and membership directory. It could be a place you started your surfing from each day. If you read their strategic plan on ccc.com you can see what some of their plans are. (I won't try to put a link here)

I think they are heading the right direction. There is a lot of info on the web that interests car washers today and the ICA is poised to bring all those opportunities together.
We just need to give them some time to get it built.
