Saab wheel bolts&torque!!!
I just got a new-to-me 1997 Saab 900 SE Turbo. It needed tires, so I had a new set of Fusions put on the rims at the local tire shop. I swapped them for the snows myself. As you Saab guys know, these cars use bolts instead of studs&nuts.
Well, I got all the new tires and wheels mounted myself. Then, last night I was on my way to band rehearsal when the front end started shaking. Pulled over immediately and yep, I had a few very loose bolts on the left front rim! Yikes. I had neglected to re-torque the bolts after a day of driving like I was supposed to.
Don't forget to re-torque lug nuts/wheel bolts after tires and rims a day or two after they are reinstalled, even if the tire shop does the install.

I have a Saab 9-3 convertable... foe a few more days at least.
We forget the old days and how we were taught to change a tire.... at least how I was taught. ALWAYS RETIGHTEN LUG NUTS after diving a few miles. These soft metals used on imports can be over tightened and snap off.
I'm looking at a porsche 911 or a corvette for my next ride..... any suggestions?
Well if your going porsche in my humble opinion a 911 Turbo is the only way to go.
I have a 25th anniversary turbo 9-3 convertible an those lug bolts can be a problem if you over tighten. I took off the wheels as soon as I got the car home to either replace or paint the rusting lug bolts. I was told that even new ones would rust and they now use plastic covers. I polished and clear coated my old lug bolts, then installed the caps. The caps come with a little tool to remove them.
As hard as the lug bolts are to remove, there is no way my wife could change the tire, I had to use an impact last time. I have heard of similar problems with wheel removal on a Saab web site.
My advice to Wax man is to lay off the Bob Marley music when reinstalling tires (listen afterwards).
To properly tighten lug nuts, use a torque wrench.

It was not Bob Marley.
It was Desmond Dekker.
Get it straight!
