Training guide on personnel
Use your digital camera for pics of every possible damage situation...driver around WallyMart and take pics of every odd thing you see on vehicles...then create your own training sheets using any kind of desktop publishing software.

I like this idea and got my camera ready. We did something similar for our equiptment room. We have created a book (it is now 43 pages long) titled "When things do not work". It contains digital pictures of all our equipment with names of the equipment.
Pictures of correct settings-valve positions etc. are included.

- "i've got 14 pages for guide on. it takes some time but sure speeds training and saves some damages. 43 pages wow! "
Very good stuff Jimmy, I had planned on making a poster with info from the damage control center with pictures of problem cars so the attendant will visually recognize them. I hoped with the continuous visual reminders perhaps their sub-concious will kick in.
Maybe someone should make those. Annually updateable posters with "problem" cars combined with generic problems such as your poster has. What about brush guards and receiver hitches? problems at yours?
How about a poster
hey... thanks alot guys! anyone care to share sample pictures or documents?? to get us started, training is a big issue for me now.. Thanks for any help..
Recently, I had a new employee send a high rise van into the wash. Although she had read my 14 pages, we had to repair the van and my first arch. Neither she nor my customer read my signage prior to the wash....
Alas, you can do your best and still fail sometimes.
I've got to create a test based on my 14 pages of training materials.... maybe that will help?
