Rinse Down Hose DANGERS!
We all know the dangers of rinsing down our tunnels with a water hose.
Solutions:
Training-have a rule to lock out conveyor before rinsing down...and/or
put a lock off button next to rinse down hose to manually lock off before use
Automatic lock off: put a well pressure switch on the hose bib, wire your conveyor off circuit thru that switch such that pressure on that hose automatically turns off your conveyor (idiot proof)
Some locations in the NE have a conveyor off pull cord mounted all the way down the tunnel on the wall...like a bus or train kill switch
Andrew Jaffa(Jax) has hooks on the wall to hang the hose while using.
Another suggestion I haven't tried is put a breakaway fitting in the last 10 or 15 feet of the hose so it will breakway under stress.
Any other ideas?
