1. Install a timer for hot water production boiler if your setup is a boiler feeding a storage tank. I just installed one set to turn off at 8pm and back on at 6am-ish.

2. Wrap the storage tank in extra fiberglass insulation.

3. Setup a reclaim for R.O. reject. I am currently developing this system at my wash and will be getting the tank for it soon (using a big, square tank with a metal cage around it, recycled from a tire shop and previously used to store tire-filling component).

4. Install cpfl lights wherever you can.

5. Collect and re-use rainwater. I'm working on this project currently, too.

Got my RO reject reclaim operational. Saving thousands per year with this setup. Highly recommend it.

Total cost: under $500.

The inlet on the left flows from ro reject tank. I have the floats set to allow the reject to mix in with city water.

As an added bonus, the ro reject is warmer than city water, which aids in cleaning power, even if only a little.

I know of few better things than coming in in the morning, seeing the reject tank full and then using all that previously wasted water to wash cars!
